What is Pokemon and what gets people interested in it?
Well first of all Pokemon is short for pocket monsters. There were originally 151 Pokemon but now there are about 252. Each pokemon belongs to one or two different elements such as water, fire, grass etc. They all have special attacks for example an electric element like pikachu can thundershock, thunderbolt and so on. A fire element like Moltres can use fire spin, flamethrower, ember etc. There are many trainers who train pokemon to become stronger and evolve which means change into a more adaptable species that is more powerful than its last form. Pokemon stealers like Team Rocket are after everyone's strong and rare pokemon but they hardly ever succeed. Pokemon Masters sometimes have gyms in certain cities which trainers have to get badges from to get into leagues like the pokemon league and the orange league.
I got interesting in it by reading an article in a magazine about pokemon. It showed pictures of some of the cutest pokemon like Eebi (gold/silver pokemon), Meowth, Vaporeon and Ninetales. I thought I'd get into Pokemon because some of them are quite cute.

The six Pokemon Games
The Pokemon Gameboy games
There are six Pokemon gameboy games including Red,Blue,Green(only in Japanese),Yellow, Gold and Silver. There is also another one called Crystal which is not out yet. Pokemon Red and Blue are not the same because there are some Pokemon in each that you cannot get in the other cartridge. So you have to trade with a link cable (sold separatly). In my opinion, Red and Blue are a bit boring because they show the Pokemon not looking quite like they should and also once you get Mewtwo at the end there is nothing else to do
Yellow is the special Pikachu edition. It is not very different to red and blue other than you start with a Pikachu and it follows you everywhere outside its pokeball. Also, the displayed Pokemon look more like they do in the anime (cartoon).
Gold and Silver introduce 100 new pokemon which include Lugia, Hohou (the golden bird that Ash saw when he became a trainer) and Seribii (the angel pokemon). There are different characters and cities. New goals also and guess what......well I won't spoil it for you hehe.
There are also some Nintendo 64 games. They are called Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap and Hey you, Pikachu. I don't have mucxh infomation about those games though, sorry.
